 Accounts Payable Clerk

Bedrock Homes has been building single family homes since 1999 and is a proud member of Carrington Group of Companies; including Carrington Communities Multi-family housing, Carrington Resorts, Changing Futures Foundation and Carrington Land.

Bedrock Homes is currently seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk to join our dynamic team of professionals.

Accounts Payable Clerk Qualifications/Experience:

  • Post-secondary school diploma in Accounting.
  • 2+ years' experience working in Accounts Payable.  Accounts Payable experience in the residential homebuilding industry is considered an asset.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Sound knowledge and experience with Timberline 300 and AP Desk Homefront.
  • Experience working within a paperless AP system would be an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to accurately calculate, post, correct, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
  • Strong knowledge of payment regulations and fair credit practices.
  • Must possess a high level of moral judgment for handling confidential information and monetary transactions.
  • Experience in gathering data and compiling the proper information.
  • Able to perform moderate to complex account reconciliations.
  • Strong diplomatic, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting systems, budgets, and internal controls.
  • Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
  • Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with other departments, key business partners, vendors and trades.
  • Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.

 

Accounts Payable Clerk Responsibilities:

  • Verifies invoices to purchase orders and distribute to obtain approval for work complete.
  • Post and process AP data to appropriate accounts.
  • Preparation of cheques and documentation for signatures.
  • Proper document keeping including and not limited to filing and/or archiving.
  • Reconciliation of accounts including and not limited to vendor accounts and/or corporate credit cards.
  • Assist in vendor management.
  • Investigate payment problems while following corporate AP policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the strict confidentiality and privacy of financial records as they relate to the organization and its business partners.

This full-time position is located in Edmonton, Alberta.  We are located on the south side of Edmonton.  Office Hours are Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm.  Bedrock Homes provides a competitive compensation and benefits, and RRSP package.

Assistant Site Superintendent, Residential Construction

Bedrock Homes is seeking an experienced Assistant Site Superintendent for single family residential construction.

Assistant Site Superintendent Qualifications/Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in single family residential construction.
  • General knowledge of the Alberta Building Code.
  • Thorough understanding of construction terms, scheduling and planning concepts.
  • Expert ability in accurately interpreting project specifications and plans.
  • Proven adaptability to manage priorities and sequencing in a changing work environment impacted by external business conditions.
  • Carpentry experience and the use of general power tools is essential.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Self-starter with ability to set and direct goals and tasks.
  • Proven skills in leadership, communication, and problem solving.
  • Exceptional organizational, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Requires personal hand tools to use daily at work.
  • A valid driver’s license (no GDL) and clean driver’s abstract.
  • Requires personal reliable transportation, preferably a truck, and must be no more than 10 years old.
  • Safety qualifications and tickets.

Assistant Site Superintendent Responsibilities:

  • Supervising residential construction of single family homes in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Maintaining site cleanliness (interior & exterior) to present professional appearance.
  • Ensuring overall quality meets the Bedrock Homes Quality Standard.
  • Controlling overall safety of all designated sites.
  • Aiding with the turnover of projects on schedule and within budget.
